Our Walking Trails

Whale Trail

This is a circular walk for 4 km and the first stretch has a steep incline for 50m. Keep to the left on the sea side where you will find many benches, so take a breather and admire the fauna and flora and of course the magnificent views including dolphins and whales Move along the path for a view over Pullens Bay to Chintsa and the hinterland farms...

Krantz Garden Walk

At certain times of the year this walk is a mass of wildflowers and butterflies.

This is a concrete pathway for about 300m with benches along the way and a path down to the FAIRY POOL where you can have a delightful swim. From this point you can walk back to the Hotel along the beach or back along the path.

Otter Creek

his is an inland dry rocky riverbed walk in a canopy of beautiful trees. From the Hotel, walk along Mariner’s Way towards the Haga Shop and meander left over the bridge onto Milkwood lane to the Village Hall. To the right of the Village Hall is path and a bench and just behind the bench you

Cormorant

Meander through the lovely riverine canopy for about 20m to the Cormorant Bench and take in the stunning view over the tranquil lagoon where you will see abundant birdlife and fish jumping.

River Trail

An easy 3 km amble through the pristine riverine forest along the Haga Haga River.

From the Hotel walk along Mariner’s Way to the main beach, cross the beach and head towards the Retreat development entrance gates. Follow the road to where you will see the signs – there are three interspersed entrances to this walk...

Lookout Trail

This is a steep and challenging hike to the top of the hill. Once at the top you have the option to turn left and meander along to meet up with the Lagoon View walk to the log house or to the right up the hill to Lookout Bench and back down the hill to the start of the River View Trail.

Lagoon View

This is another pleasant and easy walk with a choice of keeping it a short walk to Lagoon View Bench (250m) or extending it in two different directions for the more energetic: to the top of the hill to Lookout Bench (500m) and follow the path back down to the start of the Lookout Trail (300m), or veer right at the fork (100m) for a challenge down steep stairs to the lagoon..
